When setting up the Bark Control Pro, it's crucial to place the device in a location with an unobstructed view from the device to the barking dog. The device will not work through solid objects like wood fences, glass, or thick shrubbery, and it should not be placed too high above the dog's head. Plug the device in or power it using a 9V battery (not included).

The most important step is to set the switch on the side of the device to "Audio" when setting up the sensitivity dial. This allows you to hear the Bark Control Pro being activated, ensuring that you only hear the sound when the dog is barking. If you hear the sound when the dog is not barking, the dial is set too high, and if you don't hear the sound when the dog is barking, the dial is set too low.

Adjust the sensitivity dial based on the distance between the dog and the Bark Control Pro. If the dog is 10-15 feet away, set the dial 1/4 of the way up. If the dog is 35 feet away, set the dial 1/2 way up. If the dog is 36-50 feet away, roll the dial all the way up. If the dog is more than 50 feet away, use the included remote control to activate the device.

Once the dial is set up, you can flip the switch from "Audio" to "Ultra" so that only the dog will hear the sound. Then, you can leave the device to activate on its own, unless the dog is more than 50 feet away, in which case you should use the included remote option.
